Architecture is an art and technology are applied to the shape of the building, there are various styles in architecture, one of which is the Romanesque Architecture

Romanesque Architecture is one of the architectural style that developed since the medieval in Europe. Romanesque Architecture is theforerunner of Gothic architecture. the beginning of this architectural style is known for certain, that is between the 6th to the 10th century. In English Romanesque architecture is known as norman architecture. The term is Roman in French; Romanish in German; Romaanse in Dutch, Románico in Spanish and Romanico in Italian..

design of Romanesque Architecture is very unique, the design features of the details of construction and semi-circular arches. Romanesque architecture style building that is found in many churches, government buildings, universities and many others. uniquely building is still a lot that stands firmly until now.

Romanesque architecture usually have the symmetry of the room and floor plan, while also building has thick walls, sturdy structure and columns, and has a decorative tower, this style can be recognized throughout Europe, although using different materials

Early Romanesque arches were constructed of large stones with rough faces and edges. In pre-Romanesque structures, actual Roman columns were salvaged from ruins and re-used. Romanesque columns, themselves, tend to be shorter for a given diameter than Classical columns.

Some example of Romanesque building are Women’s Abbey and the Men’s Abbey in caen, France, cathedral and baptistery of pisa, Itali, the church of St.Sernin in Toulouse, and the baptistery of Florence, Italy.

 

Romanesque Architecture currently classified as classical architecture, because of its beauty in proportion and accentuates the details as the main focus of its beauty
